Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26 -- Ten districts of Odisha have been affected by heavy rainfall and the impact of the depression, with more than 73,000 people affected across the state, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said after reviewing the rain and flood situation on Saturday.

The affected districts are Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Balangir.

According to the latest assessment, 73,085 people have been affected in 80 blocks, covering 325 gram panchayats and 1,071 villages. Rainfall has also affected 49 wards in 10 urban areas. Sixteen villages have been reported to be waterlogged, while around 4,480 hectares of cropland have been affected.
