Bhubaneswar, March 24 -- Indian Railways has introduced updated guidelines regarding the refund process for confirmed train ticket cancellations.

As per the revised rules, passengers who cancel their confirmed tickets between 24 and 72 hours before the scheduled departure will receive a refund after a deduction of 25% of the ticket fare.

For cancellations made more than 72 hours prior to departure, passengers will be eligible for a higher refund, with only the basic flat cancellation charge per person being deducted.

If a ticket is cancelled within the 72 to 24-hour window before departure, a standard penalty of 25% of the fare will apply, subject to the minimum cancellation fee.
