Bhubaneswar, Aug. 3 -- A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has uncovered serious security lapses in a departmental recruitment examination conducted by Western Railway, revealing that the computer server used for the test remained active for more than 48 hours after the examination ended, allegedly creating an opportunity to manipulate candidates' answers.

According to a report in The Times of India (ToI) on Monday, the investigation relates to the Computer Based Test (CBT) held on November 22, 2024, for the post of Diesel Mechanic Grade III. The case came to light after the Railway Vigilance Department flagged irregularities in the examination process, prompting the CBI to register an FIR and launch a detailed probe.
