Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 -- Renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik created a 7-foot-high sand sculpture of Lord Shiva on Sunday at Odisha's Puri beach. He created the sculpture for the occasion of the second Monday of Sawan.

The sculpture depicts Lord Shiva's divine face, adorned with a trident, serpent, and a Kanwariya seeking blessings.

The Kanwar pilgrimage is depicted in the background. This added to the sculpture's portrayal of spirituality, devotion and the sacred traditions of Sawan. The sand art was created with the assistance of students from Pattnaik's sand art institute.
