Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- In a major relief for residents of Puri, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has announced that special arrangements are being made to ensure that local residents can have darshan of Lord Jagannath conveniently without having to stand in long queues.

According to the Minister, a dedicated system is being developed with the assistance of the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC). Under the proposed arrangement, local residents of Puri will be able to enter the temple premises by scanning their Aadhaar cards.

The Minister said adequate safeguards are also being put in place to prevent any misuse of the facility and to ensure that only genuine residents can avail of the special provision.
