Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- Puri Gundicha Yatra reached its final phase as the chariot of Lord Jagannath, the Nandighosha, reached the Gundicha Temple on Friday. The chariots of Devi Subhadra, Darpadalana, and Lord Balabhadra, Taladhwaja, had already completed their journey today.

The ceremonial pulling of the three massive wooden chariots began on Thursday afternoon. However, the procession was temporarily halted for the night as the scheduled pulling times went past the stipulated traditional hours. The chariots were safely anchored at different points along the wet Bada Danda (Grand Road) overnight before the pulling resumed on Friday morning.
