Puri Greenfield Airport project moves closer to construction after environment clearance
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 7 -- The proposed Sri Jagannath Greenfield Airport in Puri has moved another step closer to construction, with the project receiving environmental clearance and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) approval from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
Puri Collector Dibyajyoti Parida on Tuesday said that the forest-related issues connected with the project have now been resolved.
"The administration is currently waiting for the final clearance, after which work on the airport is expected to begin soon in coordination with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and the Commerce and Transport Department," said Parida.
