India, July 24 -- The holy city of Puri is witnessing heightened security arrangements as the Bahuda Yatra, the return journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from the Gundicha Temple to the Srimandir, begins today.

The concluding phase of the annual Rath Yatra festival has drawn lakhs of devotees to the pilgrim town. To ensure the smooth conduct of the chariot procession, authorities have made elaborate security, traffic and crowd management arrangements across Puri.

Security personnel have been deployed at key locations, with special focus on crowd control, regulation of pilgrim movement and maintaining order along the Grand Road, where the three chariots will make their way back to the Srimandir.
