Pregnant woman carried on cot for over 3 km as ambulance fails to reach village in Rayagada
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13 -- A pregnant woman was carried on a cot for more than three kilometres through a muddy road after an ambulance failed to reach her village in Odisha's Rayagada on Saturday.
The woman, from Sadakana village under Gudari block, went into labour, following which her family members called the 108 ambulance service. However, the ambulance could not reach the village due to the absence of a proper road and was forced to stop near Badapankala.
Following this, family members, relatives and villagers carried the pregnant woman on a cot through the muddy road for more than three kilometres to the ambulance.
