Politics intensifies over 'delay' in students' union election in colleges across Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- With the possibility of students' union elections returning to Odisha campuses, political parties and student organisations stepped up their demands and reactions. The question of whether the polls would be held before Durga Puja once again came into focus following the government's indication that it is positive about conducting the elections.
The issue gained traction after the Higher Education Minister reiterated that a decision would be taken at the appropriate time. Student groups remain hopeful about the return of campus elections. The Opposition, however, questioned the delay, while educationists stressed that political parties should not directly interfere in campus affairs.
