Police nexus with ganja mafia in Odisha's Bargarh triggers action and suspensions
Bhubaneswar, May 14 -- Allegations of a nexus between police personnel and ganja mafia in Odisha's Bargarh district have triggered strong departmental action following the seizure of more than 19 quintals of ganja in Jharbandh area.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion in Bargarh town, with questions being raised over the alleged involvement of police personnel in illegal narcotics activities.
In connection with the case, two police personnel have been suspended, a Home Guard has been dismissed from service and the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Jharbandh police station has been transferred. ASI Kaushik Sahu and constable Chittaranjan Panda have been suspended, while Home Guard Debarchan Niali has been dismissed.
