Bhubaneswar, May 30 -- In a daring police operation at Rengali in Jharsuguda district, a notorious criminal, Jay Chauhan, was injured during an encounter while attempting a robbery. The exchange of fire occurred when police officers intercepted Chauhan and his accomplices in Gandhi Chhaka, Brajarajnagar.

Sources confirmed that Chauhan, who has more than 10 serious criminal cases registered against him, was targeted during a coordinated operation following intelligence about a planned robbery in the area, officials said on Saturday.
