Bhubaneswar, April 2 -- A Plus 3 girl student from Bhetanai village under Aska in Odisha's Ganjam district succumbed to her burn injuries on Thursday while undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. The student had sustained critical injuries after allegedly pouring kerosene and setting herself on fire on April 28.

She had been undergoing treatment in the ICU for the past five days. Reports stated that over 60% of her neck and face were severely burnt. Initially admitted to a hospital in Aska, she was later shifted to Berhampur Medical as her condition deteriorated.
