Bhubaneswar, Sept. 20 -- Odisha Health Department suspended Berhampur jail doctor Sushant Panigrahi on Saturday in Ganjam in connection with allegations of threatening a witness in advocate Pitabas Panda's murder case from inside the jail. The action was taken over allegations that Panigrahi provided a mobile phone to accused Bikram Panda.

According to a special order issued by the State Health Department, Panigrahi was suspended for allegedly violating the Service Conduct Rules. During the suspension period, he has also been directed not to leave the headquarters without prior permission.
