Bhubaneswar, May 29 -- A Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) was allegedly attacked with a knife while inspecting houses being constructed under the PM Jan Man Yojana in the Bonda Hills area of Malkangiri on Thursday.

The injured officer, identified as Bijay Panda, had visited Dantipada village to monitor ongoing construction work under the government housing scheme. While returning from the inspection, he was attacked by a group of allegedly intoxicated youths.
