Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- A couple was arrested by Banigochha Police in Odisha's Nayagarh on Thursday for allegedly smuggling ganja in a car.

According to reports, 60 kg of ganja was seized during the search of the car. The arrested couple belongs to the Khandapada police station area of Nayagarh.

The arrests were made during police patrolling near the Hanuman Temple. Personnel reportedly became suspicious of a black-coloured car. The vehicle was stopped and searched, following which a large quantity of ganja was recovered from inside.

Following the seizure, Banigochha Police arrested both individuals in connection with the case.

After completing the necessary procedures, police forwarded both the accused to court.
