Bhubaneswar, April 26 -- Six passengers were injured after a Swiss Air flight bound for Zurich aborted takeoff following an engine fire at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport in the early hours of Sunday. The Airbus A330 aircraft, operating flight LX147, was carrying 228 passengers and four infants when the incident occurred shortly after 1 am.
According to initial reports, smoke was seen emerging from the port side near one of the landing gears during the takeoff roll, indicating a possible engine issue. Acting swiftly, the flight crew rejected the takeoff and initiated emergency evacuation procedures on the runway.
