Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 -- Odisha government is planning to launch a new road safety initiative focused on constructing better roads and developing zero-fatality corridors across the state to curb vehicular fatalities.

The decision follows official data showing that 18,364 people lost their lives in road crashes between 2023 and 2025. These accidents occured primarily due to excessive speeding, poor road engineering, and a lack of public awareness, as reported by The Times Of India.
