Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- Odisha witnessed a major rise in mob violence, with multiple incidents in recent weeks exposing the dangers of rumour-driven justice.

Keeping this in view, OTV launched a public awareness campaign titled 'Say No to Mob Violence'. The initiative seeks to draw attention to the sensitive issue and encourage people to reject all forms of violence.

The issued gained focus after three separates cases of mob violence were reported in the state within a short span of two months.

According to reports, several cases surfaced in which people took the law into their own hands, acting as self-appointed judges and delivering punishment based on suspicion or unverified information.
