Bhubaneswar, May 11 -- The Bhadrak district administration on Monday initiated a detailed investigation after reports emerged that a four-year-old girl was allegedly sold for Rs 15,000 by her parents in Bhadrak. The action came after the incident was reported and aired by OTV.
Following the media report, officials visited Damaadi village under Dhamnagar police station limits and began an on-ground inquiry into the matter.
District Child Protection Officer Shubhashree Pariadi, Ramakant Jena, along with Sub-Inspector Rashmita Mallik of Dhamnagar police station, interacted with villagers and initiated a detailed probe into the allegations.
