One gang, 5 robberies, Rs 21 lakh jewellery haul: How Odisha Police cracked the case
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26 -- A major series of robbery cases reported in Odisha's Mayurbhanj was cracked by Ganjam Police on Tuesday as gold and silver jewellery worth more than Rs 21 lakh was seized in the operation. Police arrested one person in connection with the case.
The arrested accused has been identified as Naresh. The gang allegedly travelled from Ganjam to Mayurbhanj to carry out robberies.
A total of five theft cases were reported between July and August in the Morada, Jashipur, Koliana and Jharpokharia police station areas.
According to reports, miscreants allegedly intercepted traders returning from a weekly market in the Morada area. They robbed the traders reportedly carrying gold and silver jewellery.
