One doctor for 8 panchayats: Healthcare concerns surface at govt hospital in Rayagada
India, Sept. 18 -- On World Patient Safety Day, concerns over healthcare infrastructure and doctors' scarcity have come to the fore at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Ambadala in Rayagada, where patient care is reportedly being managed by just one doctor.
The doctor has also been serving on deputation for the past two years, adding to concerns over the availability of medical personnel at the health facility. Around 150 to 200 patients reportedly visit the PHC every day, leaving a single doctor to manage the entire patient load.
