Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- A woman has been staging a protest outside her in-laws' house, seeking recognition of her rights as a wife and alleging that her husband married another woman while living in Bengaluru.

The protest, which began on Wednesday afternoon, has drawn attention to a marital dispute in Bhishmagiri village of Ganjam district.

Married Five Years Ago, Husband Allegedly Remarried

The incident has been reported from Brahmana Sahi in Bhishmagiri village under Digapahandi police station.

According to the woman's account, she had married the man from Bhishmagiri village around five to six years ago following Hindu rituals. After their marriage, her husband went to Bengaluru for work and stayed there.
