Odisha weather update: IMD predicts heavy rainfall, issues red warning for Mayurbhanj and Balasore
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 16 -- Odisha is likely to receive heavy rainfall from today as a low-pressure system is most likely to form over the Bay of Bengal, IMD officials. Already, the weather system has started to trigger rainfall in some parts of the state.
Several districts are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain, with warnings issued for different parts of the state by the IMD.
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on Sunday. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning for these three districts, while a Yellow Warning has been issued for other districts.
Winds are also likely to blow at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph.
