Bhubaneswar, June 20 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a five-day weather alert for Odisha, warning of widespread rainfall and frequent thunderstorms across the state from Day 1 to Day 5, valid up to June 24, 2026.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at many places over North Odisha and South Coastal Odisha, while South Interior Odisha may also receive scattered rainfall.

The weather system is expected to remain active throughout the period, bringing intermittent heavy showers and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds reaching up to 50-60 kmph in several districts.
