Bhubaneswar, Oct. 17 -- Odisha Vigilance seized Rs 21,88,620 in suspected unaccounted cash from Prasannjit Das, Superintending Engineer of the Mahanadi Northern Division in Jagatpur, Cuttack, late on Friday night in Bhubaneswar. The action was initiated based on confidential information that bribe money was allegedly being collected from various contractors.

According to reports, Das was intercepted near AG Square in Bhubaneswar while travelling in a four-wheeler vehicle deployed for official government work. Vigilance officials recovered Rs 7,28,620 in suspected unaccounted cash from him during the search.
