Odisha Vigilance nabs Bhubaneswar RI while taking Rs 5,000 bribe
India, Oct. 5 -- Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended Niranjan Singh, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Keshari Nagar RI Circle, Unit-VI in Bhubaneswar, while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from an applicant.
According to officials, Singh allegedly demanded the money to process and forward an enquiry report for facilitating the issuance of a legal heir certificate. The applicant had submitted an online application on September 9, 2026, along with all the necessary documents following the death of his mother and younger brother.
