Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Odisha is moving towards adding nuclear power to its energy mix. The state government is granting in-principle approval to state-owned NTPC and private power producer Adani Power to undertake feasibility studies for nuclear power projects at multiple locations.

The move comes as nuclear energy begins to feature alongside Odisha's existing thermal, hydro and renewable power programmes, as reported by the Business Standard.

It also comes at a time when India is seeking to significantly expand nuclear generation and has opened the sector to wider participation by public-sector enterprises and private companies.
