Bhubaneswar, May 29 -- Odisha has intensified coastal security in Kendrapara district amid fears of illegal Bangladeshi infiltration following strict verification and eviction drives in West Bengal. Security agencies in the state are maintaining heightened surveillance along vulnerable sea routes, particularly in the Mahakalpada and Rajnagar areas.
Sources said thousands of suspected infiltrators without valid documents are currently stranded near the border in West Bengal. Intelligence agencies suspect that some may attempt to enter Odisha via coastal pockets, prompting state authorities to step up preventive measures.
