Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3 -- A woman was seriously injured after her mother-in-law allegedly threw hot oil on her following a domestic argument in Mathanuagaon village of Balasore district on Saturday. The injured woman was admitted to hospital and later shifted to Bhadrak DHH after her condition deteriorated.

The incident took place in Mathanuagaon under Nandur panchayat and Khaira police station limits. The dispute reportedly began over planting a tree in the backyard, following which the mother-in-law allegedly threw hot oil at the woman.

The injured woman has been identified as Sweety Sial. She sustained burn injuries to several parts of her back and chest.

Sweety was initially taken to Khaira Community Health Centre after the incident. ...
