India, Aug. 23 -- Sweet shop owners at Odisha's Pahala are facing pressure as chhena becomes difficult to source and the prices of key ingredients continue to rise. Chhena is reportedly being sold for more than Rs 250 where it is available.

Sugar prices have also increased, while cardamom has become costlier by Rs 600 per kg to reach Rs 2,500 per kg. Firewood prices have also gone up by Rs 400 per quintal.

Vendors Assure Quality Of Chhena Pahala, known for its sweets, has seen concern among vendors over the availability and rising cost of chhena. A local sweet vendor said shops in the area use unadulterated chhena and regularly check its quality.
