Odisha's 573-km coastline project: ARISE Project aims to tackle erosion, climate risks
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 1 -- The Odisha government is working on a long-term plan to protect the state's 573-km coastline from climate risks, coastal erosion and natural hazards under the proposed Adaptive Resilience Investment in Coastal Systems on Economics (ARISE) Project.
A high-level meeting on the project was held at Lok Seva Bhawan on Saturday, chaired by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari. He stressed the need for an integrated approach that combines coastal protection with environmental conservation, livelihood security, biodiversity protection and sustainable economic development.
