Odisha records highest police injuries from criminal attacks for fourth consecutive year in country: NCRB data
Bhubaneswar, May 18 -- Law enforcement officials expressed deep concern over a growing defiance of the law, as criminals increasingly retaliate during raids and resist arrest. This pattern is reflected in the latest National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) figures, which reveal that a total of 1,298 uniform police personnel across India and 264 in Odisha were injured in 2024.
According to Times Of India, the injuries nationwide were caused by various factors, including left-wing extremism, border firing, north-east insurgents, terrorists, riotous mobs, criminal attacks, accidental weapon discharges, and other mishaps.
