Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- Two days of incessant rain has pushed up water levels in several rivers across Odisha, raising the threat of flooding in Keonjhar, Balasore and Mayurbhanj.

The Baitarani river is flowing above the danger mark at Anandapur, while the Jalka has also crossed its danger level at Mathani in Balasore's Basta block.

In Keonjhar, water levels have risen in the Baitarani and other rivers across, Joda, Champua and Anandapur. Water has started entering again through the breach in the Anandapur ring embankment, with repair work yet to be completed.

Several areas of Joda municipality are waterlogged after the Suna river overflowed. Floodwater has reached roads near the riverbank market, Women's College and Bachu Halting. Sev...
