Bhubaneswar, May 17 -- In a major crackdown, Berhampur police successfully busted an illegal IPL betting operation in the city on Sunday. Acting on information received through two mobile applications, police arrested a suspect involved in the betting network. During the raid, police recovered Rs 60,000 in cash, a car, and two high-end mobile phones reportedly used to facilitate the betting transactions.

The operation underscores the growing role of technology in enabling illegal gambling, as well as the proactive measures taken by law enforcement to act on digital tip-offs.
