Bhubaneswar, May 29 -- Amid an intensified crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in different parts of the country, Odisha has gone on high alert over fears of possible infiltration through the West Bengal border and coastal routes.

Security agencies and the state police have stepped up surveillance in border and coastal districts following reports that illegal immigrants entering through West Bengal may attempt to move into Odisha. The state government has reportedly directed district administrations and law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant and strengthen monitoring mechanisms in sensitive regions.
