Odisha on high alert along West Bengal border amid concerns over illegal Bangladeshi infiltration
Bhubaneswar, May 30 -- Following the West Bengal government's tough stance against alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators, the border states have been placed on high alert. In Odisha, police have intensified surveillance and verification drives amid concerns that suspected infiltrators leaving West Bengal may attempt to settle in the border areas of the state.
As per reports, Odisha Police conducted extensive checking on the Chakshuliapada route in Mayurbhanj district, a key road used by commuters travelling to Kolkata via Gopiballavpur, Medinipur, and Kharagpur in West Bengal.
