Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- A student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Paljhar in Odisha's Boudh district was allegedly physically assaulted by a Physical Training (PT) teacher on Thursday. The stundent was later admitted to Boudh District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.

The incident reportedly took place during a PT class when students were playing on the school playground. The student sustained injuries to his hands and legs, besides suffering broken teeth.

The student's family lodged a complaint against the PT teacher at Boudh Adarsh Police Station and demanded action against him.
