Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 -- A joint parliamentary committee reviewing the salary, allowances, pension and other facilities provided to sitting and former MLAs of Odisha observed a need to revise their pay, according to a written statement issued by the state government.

The committee, on Sunday, examined the existing salary and benefits of Odisha's incumbent and former MLAs and compared them with those available to Members of Parliament and legislators in other states. The panel was headed by Chairman Birendra Prasad Baishya, as reported by The Times of India.
