Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- The investigation into the death of medical student Chandrika Hembram has intensified as Baranga police brought her boyfriend Bhimsen Tudu on a two-day remand for detailed questioning.

Police had approached the court seeking Bhimsen's remand, stating that further interrogation was required to verify allegations made by the victim's family and examine evidence collected during the investigation. The court subsequently granted a two-day remand on Tuesday, following which police began questioning the accused.

During the remand period, police are expected to question Bhimsen about his relationship with Chandrika, including allegations that he had promised to marry her and later backed out.
