Bhubaneswar, May 14 -- Odisha government may soon introduce major measures regarding the use of petrol and diesel. Indications emerged that restrictions could be imposed on government vehicle usage and public transport may be encouraged on a mandatory basis.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Thursday indicated that the state government is likely to take several important decisions at the official level in view of the prevailing situation.

Speaking on the issue, the Chief Secretary said multiple steps are already being taken by the government to regulate fuel usage.

She informed that the Chief Minister already reduced the use of his official cavalcade by half, while several other officials also adopted similar measures.
