Bhubaneswar, March 14 -- Odisha is witnessing a sharp rise in temperature as the daytime mercury has crossed 40 degrees Celsius in several areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for Jharsuguda and Sambalpur on Saturday, while also forecasting thunderstorms and rainfall across parts of the state between March 15 and 17.

Heatwave Warning for Western Odisha

According to the Meteorological Department, intense heat conditions are currently prevailing in western Odisha. Jharsuguda and Sambalpur are expected to experience heatwave conditions, prompting authorities to issue a yellow warning for the two districts.
