Odisha man held for duping job seeker of Rs 21 Lakh with fake railway appointment letter
Bhubaneswar, June 11 -- A man was arrested for allegedly cheating a job aspirant of Rs 21 lakh by falsely promising employment in the Indian Railways and providing a fake appointment letter bearing the logo of Eastern Railway, official sources said on Thursday.
The arrest was made following an investigation by Aska Police in Odisha's Ganjam district. The development was announced during a press conference by Aska Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Saurabh Ranjan Pradhan.
According to police, the victim, Balkrushna Pal (44) of Sapuapalli village under Aska police limits, had allegedly been assured a railway job by the accused. Believing the promise, he reportedly paid Rs 21 lakh over a period of time in expectation of securing employm...
