Bhubaneswar, Sept. 12 -- A 52-year-old man died after allegedly setting himself on fire in Odisha's Bonai on Friday. He was reportedly suffering from a cough for several days before the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Behera of Colony Sahi under Gurundia Police Station. According to reports, Behera had been suffering from a cough for the past seven days and was initially undergoing treatment in Bonai after taking medication.

The incident reportedly took place yesterday at around 11 am when Behera had gone to relieve himself. He allegedly poured tarpaulin over his body and set himself on fire. He died at the spot.
