Bhubaneswar, May 13 -- Responding to the national call for cleaner energy practices, Odisha took a major step on Wednesday by adopting eco-friendly initiatives at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. As part of the green transition, only electric vehicles will now be used in the Odisha Governor's official convoy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to reduce petrol consumption in order to strengthen the country's economy and cut dependence on imported crude oil. Stressing the importance of sustainable energy and clean transportation, the Prime Minister appealed to people to gradually shift from petrol and diesel-powered vehicles to electric vehicles across the country.
