Bhubaneswar, March 23 -- In view of the anticipated rise in extreme temperatures during April, the Odisha government has issued a comprehensive advisory to prevent heatstroke cases among outdoor workers. The Labour and ESI Department has directed all Revenue Commissioners, District Collectors, and the State Labour Commissioner to implement precautionary measures from April 1 to June 15, 2026.
As per the directive, outdoor work will be restricted during peak heat hours between 11 AM and 3 PM. The order applies to all departments under the Odisha government, Central government offices operating in the state, as well as private employers, commercial and industrial establishments, shop owners, and contractors.
