Bhubaneswar, June 9 -- A youth was arrested on charges of abducting and sexually assaulting a minor girl in Odisha's Sundargarh district. The incident reportedly took place on Monday while the minor girl was alone.

As per reports, the minor girl was standing alone when the youth took advantage of the situation and allegedly abducted her. He then allegedly raped her. The incident took place under the Kinjirkela police station limits.

Following the incident, a police complaint was filed by the family members of the minor girl. Acting on the complaint, police immediately launched an investigation.

Shortly after the complaint was filed, police arrested the accused youth. The accused youth also hails from the same village.
