Odisha hikes financial assistance for lawyers by 40 per cent under Advocates' Welfare Fund
Bhubaneswar, June 22 -- In a piece of good news for advocates across Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a 40 per cent increase in the financial assistance provided to lawyers under the State Advocates' Welfare Fund.
The welfare fund extends financial support to advocates upon retirement or to their family members in the event of their death. With the latest revision, thousands of practicing lawyers associated with courts across the state are expected to benefit.
As per the revised structure, in the case of advocates who have practiced for five years or less, a financial assistance of Rs 1.05 lakh will be provided to their next of kin in the event of death. Thereafter, the amount of assistance will increase progressiv...
