Odisha govt plans major overhaul of schemes, non-performing programmes to be discontinued
Bhubaneswar, April 24 -- The Odishagovernment decided to undertake a major restructuring of its schemes, with a focus on discontinuing non-performing programmes and streamlining existing initiatives for better efficiency and outreach.
The decision follows a high-level meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary, held from April 16 to 18, during which schemes across 23 departments were reviewed.
As part of the proposed changes, schemes that did not receive any budget allocation over the past three to four years will be discontinued. The move is aimed at rationalising government expenditure and ensuring that resources are directed towards effective and impactful programmes.
