Bhubaneswar, July 14 -- The Odisha government on Tuesday released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for implementing its ambitious free education from Kindergarten (KG) to Postgraduate (PG) programme, outlining eligibility, fee regulations and institutional responsibilities.

Announcing the SOP, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said the initiative aims to ensure that no student is deprived of higher education due to financial constraints and that quality education is accessible to all.

The minister clarified that the scheme will cover all regular academic courses offered in government higher educational institutions. However, professional courses have been kept outside the ambit of the scheme.
